Concrete

Sidewalks & Driveways

Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycle is just as hard on concrete as it is on masonry. A slab that's cracked, sunken, or heaving isn't just a curb-appeal problem — it's a tripping hazard and, on a driveway, it only gets worse every winter. We pour new sidewalks and driveways built to actually hold up.

Why Concrete Fails in Southern Wisconsin

Water gets into hairline cracks and the joints under a slab, freezes, and expands — pushing the concrete up, down, or apart a little more with every winter. What starts as a cosmetic crack in October can be a heaved, uneven slab by spring. Once the base underneath has shifted, patching the surface doesn't fix the actual problem.

What We Pour

  • New driveways — full tear-out and repour, or additions
  • Sidewalks and front walkways
  • Patios, steps, and small slabs (dumpster pads, pad extensions)
  • Proper base prep and reinforcement so it doesn't fail again next freeze-thaw cycle

Commercial Slab Pour — Milwaukee Apartment Complex

Freshly poured concrete slab at a Milwaukee apartment complex

A cracked, sunken pad was damaging tenant vehicles and creating a liability for the property. We tore it out and poured a new slab, properly reinforced — two days, zero disruption to residents.

Is a cracked driveway or sidewalk always worth replacing?

Not always — small surface cracks can sometimes be sealed. But heaving, sunken slabs, or cracks that keep growing usually mean the base has shifted, and a patch won't hold. We'll give you an honest read on which one you actually have.

Do you work with realtors and home inspectors?

Yes — cracked or heaved concrete comes up constantly on home sales in our area. See our Contractors & Realtors page for how we support referral partners.
